D1 Design & Creative - Local Press Release

We were lucky enough to be published in our local press as a feature business recently. This was the article below with a couple of the team photographs.

Fast-growth company D1 Design & Creative Ltd has recently relocated to its new premises on the Ynyshir Industrial Estate, Porth where it has secured an impressive first-year operating, as well as creating a number of local jobs.

D1 Design & Creative Ltd is run by managing director Russell Cameron, operations director Karlvin Thomas and production director Haluk Mercan, with the support of their team. The firm already exports to major retail clients in China, Morocco, Canada, India and Turkey, and is now targeting expansion into the US and Middle East, as well as further growth in the UK.

D1 Design & Creative Ltd provides concept designs and bespoke manufacturing in conjunction with many leading UK and international retailers including Marks and Spencer, Topshop, Topman, Wallis, The White Company, Pierre Cardin, Cacharel, Fred Perry, John Lewis, Penhaligons and Matches to name but a few.

The company’s team of young dynamic designers, project managers and support staff shares more than 20 years’ experience in the retail design and manufacturing field. The highly-skilled team has extensive knowledge of completing one-off bespoke projects, as well as large international roll-outs.

The company is a full member of the ethical data exchange Sedex, and an enthusiastic supporter of Plan A, a ground-breaking environmentally friendly business plan pioneered by one of its major retail clients. Under Plan A, D1 Design & Creative Ltd is committed to recycle all of its cardboard, wood, metal and glass, sending the minimum amount to landfill. The next phase of its efficiency drive is to investigate the possibility of installing photovoltaic solar panels at its new premises in Porth, RCT.

Caring for the environment and the local community are extremely important to the directors of D1 Design & Creative Ltd. Managing director Russell Cameron explained: “We are trying to source as many products as possible in Wales to reduce our carbon footprint and support local manufacturing partners. We will continue to promote Wales across the board in creating local jobs. Our company has planned further expansion which will hopefully achieve this goal and create more locally-based employment.”
